I was looking for pesto in the supermarket and found this one from Filippo Berio. The pesto comes in a promo pack which already includes 500g pasta.
I got the idea of doing this easy Pesto recipe to @rialitybites but tweaked it a bit based on the packaging instructions.

Her recipe calls for a lot of garlic and since I don’t like garlic as much as she does, I used 3 cloves garlic as indicated on the packaging. She used Shiitake Mushrooms but since it is not available in the supermarket, I used white button mushrooms. While the recipe at the back of Filippo Berio’s packaging calls for a canned tuna. So, feel free to tweak the recipe depending on your preference but this is how I did it.
The recipe is simple, just cook the pasta according to packaging instructions. Then cook the pesto sauce using 1/4 cup olive oil and saute 2 pcs minced onion and 3 cloves garlic. Then, add in 1 small can of button mushrooms and cook it for about 3 minutes. Add the pesto sauce, and add salt and pepper to taste. That’s it! Serve with parmesan cheese on top and enjoy!
Overall, this instant pesto sauce from Filippo Berio is actually good and affordable for only Php 189. Would definitely buy it again but next time, I would only use 300g pasta since the pesto sauce is not enough for 500g pasta. Also, I would add more garlic for it to taste even better since the 3 cloves garlic is too few.
