My sisters didn’t want to explore the Spice Souk but being the foodie that I am, I thought I should go there so, I went alone while they stroll around City Centre Deira to shop. Shopping in malls has always been my least priority when going out of the country so, I decided to commute alone. This was my first time commuting! Good thing they have applications where it will guide you on how to go from one point to another. My sister’s friend recommended using the 2GIS app. It is pretty similar to Google Maps and I actually didn’t find it necessary to download the 2GIS app? Well, I only used it once so, maybe I just wasn’t able to maximize its use. Anyway, if you are like me, Google Maps already does the job thus there is no need to download an additional app on your phone.
After exploring a bit at the Spice Souk, I went immediately to City Centre Deira using the Dubai Metro. Going to Dubai Metro from Spice Souk was quite a walk, I thought I was already getting lost. Anyway, once you found the Metro, you will have to get off at Deira City Centre Metro Station 1 then walk just a few steps and you’re there!
I was already hungry so, I am already on the lookout for food to try. On my list was Jollibee, since I wanted to try their Curry-flavored Chicken Rice Bowl or their Jolly Wrap. I also saw that they have Nando’s here but my sister told me that we can eat at Nando’s in Al Ain Mall. So, another restaurant she suggested was PF Chang’s.
It’s a bit hard to order since there were only three of us and my sister told me that their serving size is quite big here. So, we ended up choosing their Chicken Dumplings and Pad Thai. Ugh, I wanted to order more! Hehe.
Chicken Dumplings
You can choose your dumpling either pan-fried or steamed and we chose the steamed ones.
It was served drizzled with a light chili sauce and 3 types of sauces.
Price: 35.70 AED
Table for: 6 pieces
Food Rating: 5/5
Pad Thai
PF Chang’s Pad Thai has 3 options: chicken, shrimp, or combo which is a combination of both chicken and shrimp. Of course, we had to choose their combo.
Their Pad Thai has lots of crushed peanuts and cilantro which we really liked. It also has chili flakes but it wasn’t spicy. The toppings were really a lot and the serving size was big. Each serving can feed 2-3 persons. Since my sisters and I are small eaters, the serving was really a lot for us and made us full. I thought I can still go to Jollibee and eat again afterwards but I was already too full. LOL.
Definitely one of the best Pad Thais out there!
Price: 56.70 AED
Table for: 2-3 persons
Food Rating: 5/5
