I have been to Iloilo a couple of times already and this was the first time I have heard of Alfonso’s House of Creamhorn.
Apparently, creamhorn is a popular delicacy in Jaro, Iloilo. Why didn’t I know that? But luckily, I was able to try it here in Manila when a friend of mine sent me a box of it.
Creamhorn is a horn-shaped puff pastry filled with custard cream.
I haven’t tried this one in Iloilo but I love the aroma that comes out of the box when I opened it. Also, I love that it now comes in other flavors. Flavors that actually represent our country — ube and buko pandan.
The puff pastry cone is puffy and crunchy while the filling was sweet and milky. My favorite was the original (custard cream) but the other flavors taste delicious as well.
