If you are looking for Italian restaurants around BGC, I am sure that you would find a lot but one of the restaurants that are truly remarkable for me is Mamma Mia by Parmigiano.
Normally, I would say pass on complimentary bread served on restaurants but not when it has olive oil with balsamic vinegar like this one.
Complimentary Bread – I won’t forget this complimentary bread because of the olive oil with balsamic vinegar and tomatoes. You can enjoy this while waiting for your food or while eating your pasta. However, I have noticed that the bread wasn’t toasted, unlike the first time I have tried it. This bread was better when toasted.
Insalata con Burrata – this is Mamma Mia’s favorite salad and also mine. A mix of greens, arugula, walnuts, pickled vegetables, toasty bread cubes, tomatoes, Burrata cheese, topped with their sweet house vinaigrette.

Spaghetti Carbonara Alla Mamma Mia – I’ve always been a fan of this pasta ever since. What makes this carbonara really special was the melted parmesan cheese on top and it was made with egg instead of cream (just like the authentic Italian carbonara). This pasta was really heavy since it was loaded with parmesan cheese, bacon and pancetta. It is normal that you feel a bit of “umay” because of the cheese that’s why it would be best to pair this pasta with something like pizza or the complimentary bread (carbs on carbs like a true-blooded noypi).
They also have this pasta available ala “teybolforwan” for solo diners. The serving was really huge!
Price: Php 1,620
Table for: 4-5 persons

Pizza Metro – one-meter sized pizza with three flavors — pesto, 6 cheese, and margherita. For a group of people who can’t decide what flavor to order, this meter-sized pizza won’t fail you. I love their pesto and 6 cheese pizza!
Price: Php 890
Table for: 5 or more persons
Food Rating: 5/5
They make your pizza as you order so, you can see their staff molding and cooking your pizza in the oven at their open kitchen.
Mamma Mia’s Roasted Chicken – Mamma Mia’s style roasted chicken with Italian seasoning served with potatoes and gravy. I love the rich flavor of this chicken (well seasoned) that perfectly matches the sauce.
Price: Php 720
Table for: 6 persons
Food Rating: 5/5
Stinco di Maiale al Forno – twice-cooked pork leg taken off the bone and served with seared apples, applegravy, and Mama Mia’s stinco sauce. Since the meat was cooked twice, I was expecting a slice of tender meat but the opposite welcomed me. The meat was tough and the pork skin wasn’t crunchy.
Price: Php 900
Table for: 6 persons
Food Rating: 3/5
Polpo con Patate – I love how tender this grilled octopus is made perfect with potatoes, arugula, and onions tossed with pesto vinaigrette.
Price: Php 650
Table for: 1-2 persons
Food Rating: 4/5
Overall, I would highly recommend Mamma Mia for people looking for Italian food in BGC. Really high-quality food that’s worth your money.
