I was first able to try Magnum way back in 2014 at their pop-up store in SM Aura – Magnum Manila where you can create your own Magnum. I mean, choose your own Magnum ice cream and combine any toppings you want from their ice cream bar. That was one thrilling experience for every ice cream lover and I am willing to pay just to experience it once again.
I was surprised when this popped into my Facebook memories! (Please excuse my non-existent photography skills back then.)
That’s why I am always excited whenever I find new Magnum flavors. That would also include their ice cream bars which are available in the leading supermarkets nationwide. Of course, ice cream bars are just too small, right? So, I was also thrilled when I saw that they have pints! I actually saw it from one of my favorite bloggers and thought that there’s no way I can find one here in our province.
So, I went to the supermarket and promised my nephew to buy him ice cream. I was already in the line at the cashier when I remembered the ice cream. Quickly, I run to the chest freezers, looked around, and got a tub of ice cream. I looked around again and saw one last Magnum pint. I got so excited and since that was the only pint left, I just grabbed it and went to the cashier.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting it to be affordable but I wasn’t also expecting that it would cost more than Php 300. And there goes my money. No turning back. Haha.
Of course, I had to take photos and a video of it to comfort myself and say that this Magnum pint is all worth it. LOL.
@teybolforwan_ Is this Php 366 ice cream pint worth it? #MagnumPint #magnum #icecream #teybolforwan
Since there’s only one pint left, I have no choice but to buy the White Chocolate variant.
Actually, this is not something new but I saw it recently on the story of one of my favorite bloggers which made me craved for it. These Magnum pints are available in a variety of flavors: classic, and almond. I saw on their website that there are more variants but it is not available here in the Philippines. Other flavors include: double salted caramel, chocolate & hazelnut praline, and white chocolate & cookies
Moment of truth… Well, you’re not supposed to crack the ice cream by pressing the “press to crack” sign that you can see on the side. You were supposed to open in, wait for 10 minutes, and crack it using a spoon based on its cover. I want my ice cream really frozen so, I did not wait for 10 minutes and just cracked it. Cracking it was a bit fun. I instantly indulged in the crackable hard cholate shell and tasted the ice cream alone next.
The white chocolate was really rich and delicious, I love it. I tasted the vanilla ice cream alone and it was really creamy which I love but it tastes ordinary for me. I thought I just wasted my money. So, I took photos of it and put on the fridge again for consumption the next day.
The next day, I ate it straight on the pint just like how everyone loves to eat ice cream. Upon digging in, I was amazed by the white chocolate shards that you can get with every scoop of ice cream. I thought the hard white chocolate is only at the top. But no, there’s more and that made this ice cream special.
Price: Php 366
Table for: 440 ml
Food Rating: 4/5
This Magnum crackable pint was worth it but I still find it too expensive. This is something I would love to indulge in every once in a while but I would try the other flavors. There are other ice cream brands that offer equally delicious pints at a more affordable price so, choose what makes you happy! Hoping to try other flavors soon!
