They say that “revenge traveling” is already over. But are you one of those that haven’t done any revenge traveling yet? Why not do some “revenge eating” instead?
Ohh… I don’t mean eating just about everything but eating famous delicacies from specific places while staying in Manila. For example, eating Silvanas from Dumaguete while staying in Manila? Or a slice of strawberry cake from Vizco’s? Or maybe buy that pack of Ichiran ramen to somehow make you feel like you’re in Japan?
For me, it was 2019 when I went to Bacolod and tried out all the well-known Napoleones there and compared which one was the best (based on my personal opinion): “The Battle of Napoleones”. I was able to try 4/6 of the famous napoleones there! And one of the two brands I wasn’t able to try was Pendy’s. They’re not available in Manila at that time but the good news is, you can now get it in Manila!
Leones Napoleones partnered with Pendy’s in 1994, supplying them with their delicious napoleones, which is also one of the most famous napoleones in Bacolod. However, last 2020, Pendy’s halted its operations that’s why now, they are carrying the brand Leone’s Napoleones. Yup, it is the same!!! If you love Pendy’s, it is now known as Leones Napoleones so, don’t get confused.
“Enjoy the napoleones you’ve loved since 1999 right from the comfort of your home as the maker of Pendy’s napoleones delivers them directly to your doorstep.”
Leones napoleones are baked and flown from Bacolod to Manila on the same day! So, you’ll still get that freshly baked napoleones from Bacolod. The plane lands every 3 PM and they will delivery it to you between 4 to 9 PM so, make sure to reserve yours as it is limited only!
These napoleones doesn’t have any preservatives and you can enjoy it for up to 5 days when refrigerated and 10 days when frozen. You can have it warm, chilled, or frozen, however your like! For me, I like reheating mine to get that flaky pastry puff paired with tea.
This napoleones brought me back to the Sugar Capital of the Philippines — Bacolod!
Crunchy puff pastry with creamy custard filling and smooth sugar glaze that melt in the mouth! Yummm! I definitely love that it was crunchy after reheating. Felt like I really had it in Bacolod. I also tried it straight from the fridge and it tastes good too but of course, not flaky. If you want your napoleones flaky, don’t forget to reheat it.
