The Philippines is getting ready to blossom with the first-ever Philippine International Flower Festival (PHILIFF) which is happening September 19th to 22nd at the SPACE at One Ayala in Makati City. This exciting event, “Bountiful Blooms”, is more than just beautiful flowers but it’s about boosting the Philippine economy!
PHILIFF will soon be a buzz as a one-stop shop for everything floral. Expect amazing displays of floral design, garden landscaping, and a trade show. There will even be exhibits featuring the ancient art of Ikebana flower arranging, the delicate beauty of bonsai trees, and the stunning variety of orchids. The highlight? A dazzling floral fashion show curated by the renowned event designer, Mr. Jerry Sibal, featuring international artists.
This festival is about much more than just admiring beautiful blooms. It’s also a chance for Filipino horticulturists and florists to connect, share ideas, and grow their businesses.
PHILIFF’s Goals:
- build a new global flower export industry for economic growth;
- attract local and foreign investors in Philippine agriculture;
- create a sustainable livelihood for farmers and growers;
- explore the latest developments in floriculture and horticulture technology;
- Introduce new and emerging tourism destinations;
- introduce business opportunities for community development;
- develop more interest in other facets of agriculture among the local communities;
- educate the farmers and growers on new skills.
The mastermind behind this magnificent Philippine International Flower Festival is Jerry Sibal, a Filipino, Chinese, and American event producer based in New York City. Mr. Sibal is known for creating magical settings for weddings, corporate events, and charity balls. He authored a coffee table book, An Event to Remember, published by Stewart Tabori & Chang, an imprint of Abrams Books. He envisioned this momentous event as a gateway to cultivating, celebrating, and promoting the Philippines as a major producer of flowers in the region, next to Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
