I read in an article online that butter, cheese, and milk would already make a decent mac and cheese. I was eager to try it but my parents wanted a normal spaghetti for my sister’s birthday. So, I have decided to make a No Baked Pinoy-Style Mac and Cheese instead.
Ingredients for Meat Sauce:
500 g Macaroni
1 big can Corned Beef
3 cloves Garlic
2 pcs Onion
500 g Tomato Sauce
150 g Tomato Paste
Sugar
Hotdog
Cooking Oil
Salt
Pepper
For Cheese Sauce:
Eden Cheese
250 ml Fresh Milk
Butter
Procedure:
1. Cook macaroni pasta according to package instructions then set aside.
2. In a pan, sauté minced garlic and onions.
3. Add corned beef and continue cooking.
4. Sprinkle with some salt and pepper.
5. Then, pour in tomato sauce and tomato paste. Stir and let it boil.
6. Add sugar depending on your preference.
7. Put sliced hotdogs and let it cook for a few more minutes.
For the Cheese Sauce:
1. Melt butter in a pot.
2. Then, pour the milk while stirring continuously.
3. Add grated cheese and continue stirring until the cheese completely melts.
4. Turn off the heat and prepare the macaroni pasta and sauce. Mix well.
5. Spread the white sauce on top of the macaroni mixture.
6. Serve and enjoy!
Cooking Tips:
1. You can add bell pepper if you have it at home.
2. Use ground beef or pork instead of corned beef.
3. For the cheese, it is better to use cheddar, parmesan, or quick melt cheese.
4. I was supposed to torch the top of the sauce but we run out of gas. You can try doing it!
Enjoy and serve it with a slice of cake! Check out more easy recipes here.
