Sushi Bake has become a trend recently and since I am in our province, it took me a while to find it here.
Good thing, Kentouka is offering Sushi Bake!
I think what made this deconstructed version of the original Japanese rolled Sushi a hit was that:
1) it gives you freedom how much nori and sushi filling you wanted to mix, and;
2) you can actually scoop it using your spoon, cover it with nori, and enjoy it!
And if you are the one doing it, it is easier to make since you don’t have to use a bamboo rolling mat and slice each sushi instead just layer everything in and toss it in the oven.
Anyway, Kentouka is offering 4 flavors of Sushi, the Salmon Cream Cheese, Spicy Tuna Cucumber, and Sushi Bake Two Ways (Tamago Kani Mango and Spicy Tuna Cucumber).
Since we wanted to try two flavors in one go, we decided to order their Sushi Bake Two Ways. The tray looks a bit small for the price but it was actually packed and filling. They said that it was good for 4 but since we are small eaters, it fits for 6 persons to us.
Tamago Kani Mango – a generous layer of Japanese rice with kani (crab sticks), tamago, roe, and mango. We definitely love its creamy and savory flavor but they only gave us one small pack of nori sheets. Had I known that, I would have ordered another extra.

If you love nori sheets, you would need about 3-4 packs for this one.
Spicy Tuna Cucumber – this one is good as well but not our favorite. It has the right kick of spiciness that I liked since I don’t want it super spicy. However, I would be more than glad if they added more sriracha on top. Also, the lack of nori sheets might have affected the whole experience.

Overall, it was worth it but they should have given more nori sheets or have told us earlier that they would only give one small pack.
There are other sellers offering Sushi Bake at a lower price but I haven’t tried them so, I can’t say which one is more sulit.
