After dining in at STONS Steakhouse, my friends and I have decided to enjoy the comfortable space of Coffee Project Black.
I’ve been hearing a lot of bad reviews about their food and drinks so, I was hesitant trying them out. So, when they opened this branch, I just can’t wait to try it not for their food and drinks but mostly because of its unique collaboration with Fully Booked.
The moment of truth…
While looking at their menu, there are only a few tea options for me to choose from so I chose their Matcha Green Tea Latte. I have noticed that the prices of their cakes and drinks are more expensive than their competitors.
Matcha Green Tea Latte – instead of ordering the typical hot tea, I have decided to have this one instead even though I am not a big fan of matcha drinks. Surprisingly, I love this one. Maybe I am really starting to love matcha drinks. I like the balance of flavors of matcha and milk as well as it’s sweetness level (I like my drinks sweet).
Price: Php 225
Table for: 1 (20 oz)
Food Rating: 5/5
Hot Chocolate – my friend ordered this drink. She said that it was good though not the best.
Price: Php 220
Table for: 1 (20 oz)
Food Rating: 4/5
Coffee Butterscotch Frappe – this is one of their Colab Specialty Drinks which is exclusive to this branch. My friend ordered this and she said that it tastes good as well but it is a bit sweet.
Price: Php 260
Table for: 1 (20 oz)
Food Rating: 4/5
Cappuccino Mascarpone – I find all their cakes a bit pricey that’s why I have high expectations and this cake actually did not disappoint. Except on the part that we expected that the color black at the bottom of the cake is chocolate. Well. it isn’t but the soft, spongey cake made up for it.
Price: Php 190
Table for: 1
Food Rating: 5/5
Banoffee Cake – while the cake is moist, we didn’t like its overall taste and texture. The nuts on the top did not add the texture we are looking for and the icing is a bit dry though we liked that it wasn’t too sweet.
Price: Php 170
Table for: 1
Food Rating: 3/5
Overall, even though the prices of the food and drinks were a bit expensive compared to their competitors, we love the ambiance and everything we ordered except for the Banoffee Cake.
Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Value for Money: 4/5
Overall Rating: 4/5
What also makes Coffee Project Black more special than the others was the availability of their Colab Special Drinks, alcoholic beverages like wine, cocktails, imported and craft beers, and charcuterie.
