Just a little back story, I’ve been a fan of Sweet Success since they started reaching out to me in 2019 and sent me their Lengua de Chat which is one of their bestselling products. True enough, you can expect their products to be of high quality which was expected with the dedication that the owners were showing. And if you are looking for something to give to your special someone, friends, family, or just wanted to have something delicious, you will surely find something on their website.
Now, going back to the star of our today’s food review, the Sweet Success’ Ube Sans Rival Cake.
Can we just admire for a moment how lovely their cake is?
I’ve been dying to try their Ube Sans Rival Cake since they released it last year. Finally, I got the chance to go to Manila and got this cake! “The wait is finally over!!!“
This cake was too pretty that I just had to take photos of its every angle.
Two of the Filipino favorite desserts in a cake — ube and sans rival. The creation of this cake makes it easy for those who can’t decide whether they want ube cake or sans rival for dessert! Why not have both, right?
Look at those layers of ube frosting, the classic and pillowy soft ube chiffon, and sans rival in the middle which was made with creamy buttercream, meringue, and chopped nuts. Okay, let me tell you more details using another photo.
For me, the highlight of this cake is the sans rival that exposes itself once you slice the cake. It is like a surprise after a surprise.
It was indeed chewy and heavenly as advertised! Love the cake’s texture, and we love that it isn’t too sweet too. It has the right sweetness suited for all ages. My mother said that the sweetness is just right for her and she loved the cake too! As for the sans rival, it melts in your mouth. Actually, I could have wished for a thicker sans rival layer but thinking about it, if they do that, it would make the cake a bit sweeter and not balanced? So, yeah, this is the perfect ratio.
Definitely, a classic treat with a twist that’s perfect for any occasion.
