Welch’s is a well-known brand which is owned by a cooperative of farmers with over 900 farmer families. Yup, we are also surprised that it was not actually owned by another big company.
Welch’s cooperative started out in 1869, where Dr. Thomas Bramwell Welch pasteurized Concord grape juice to create a non-alcoholic alternative to wine for his church. And in 1893, Welch’s Grape Juice became an American favorite at the World’s Fair in Chicago.
Today, Welch’s continues to bring natural goodness of grape juice to millions of homes all over the world. And in celebration of its 150 years of “Sharing the Goodness”, Welch’s reminds consumers, especially the moms, the value of making better choices at home and how wise decisions on nutrition can impact the family’s overall health and well-being.
We were glad to be invited to an afternoon where we’re able to learn more about Welch’s nutritional benefits and how we can use it in creative ways to prepare food and drinks which we can share with our family.
Were able to sample the food they have prepared which you can easily prepare at your own home. You can check out their recipes at www.welchs.com.
Congratulations Welch on your 150th year!
